Let's get honest about honesty

I guess you could call me a very direct person. I say what I think. Some people think that is a bad thing. They think that instead of expressing your honest opinion on something, you should just give a watered-down version that is easy for everyone to swallow.

People like honesty. But not true honesty, just easy honesty (which is not really honesty anyways). People who are "brutally honest" are often looked down upon. But those "brutal" people are the only people who you can really trust. Who's opinion would you rather have - someone who tells you what you want to hear OR someone who tells you the truth - ??

I blog for myself mostly, not for other people. Of course I care about my readers and their opinions! But I am saying that I am not going to be one of those people who go out of their way to entertain people and attract visitors. The way I see it - I would rather have 5 daily visitors who actually care about what I am writing about, then 100 who just like the "sparkly" stuff. Understand? I think the definition of a great blogger is someone who attracts their visitors by being 100% true to themselves. Because if you even have to pretend to be someone else on the internet, then that is pretty sad.
