Hello! My name is Derick, not Dericky. But most people here in Brazil can't seem to pronounce my name, so I am
stuck being called Dericky. It is actually not that bad anymore - I am kinda used to it.
Anyways, I am 17 years old. I am in Brazil right now as a Rotary foreign exchange student. I am having a blast.
I usually live in Chicago, IL, USA. I have been in Brazil since August 21st, 2009. I am returning to the states
in the beginning of July, 2010.
about the site
I have always been working on a website since the time I was 13. It all started with Neopets. I thought it was
cool to design your userlookup and layouts. That is where I first started HTML and CSS. I got a "job" at a popular
fansite at the time as a graphics designer and coder. I worked there and a few other sites, as well as some failed
attempts at starting up my own site.
In 2008 I started SharperMyspace.com. The site was a huge part of my life
for a year. I put 100's of hours into the site. At its peak of popularity, my site was getting 500 unique visitors
a day. Then Myspace started to die out and I lost interest in making layouts for Myspace. The site is still open, but
I don't update it anymore.
And that bring us to why I made this site.. I hadn't been working on a website in a while, and I started to miss
doing website/graphics design. So I decided to make a personal site. I plan to have some user content, but the main
focus of the site is around my blog and person stuff. To me, website and graphics stuff is a hobby and something I
enjoy, but I would never want to make it my full time job.
